Abrand new expansion for the Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG Neverwinter, Dragonslayer, was announced at today’s D&D Direct live show. This marks the 12th expansion to come to the game, and was announced alongside a slew of other upcoming D&D releases for the year of 2022.
The newest expansion Dragonslayer lives up to its name, pitting Neverwinter players against Dungeons & Dragon’s iconic Chromatic Dragons, who threaten the continent of Faerun with their evil. Players will have to face the full horde of Chromatic Dragons, as the trailer for Dragonslayer shows off intimidating art of the entire dragon court, from the poison-breathing Black Dragon to the massive and brazen Red Dragon.
This expansion will also introduce the Dragon Hunt System, featuring new battles and challenges with unique rewards for completion. Players will also have a brand new trial where they will face off against Tiamat, the five-headed dragon.

The Neverwinter: Dragonslayer expansion will release in June of 2022, with testing available in May via the test server. It will be out on every platform Neverwinter is available on, including the PC, Xbox, and Playstation. All expansions in Neverwinter are available for free, so you won’t have to pay to experience Dragonslayer.
For those who don’t know, Neverwinter is an MMORPG set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe. Originally released in 2012, Neverwinter has held up against other competing games on the market due to access to its unique source material. Previous Neverwinter expansions have taken players through other famous D&D settings, such as Ravenloft and the infamous Tomb of Annihilation.
